There's always a first post for everything...

So this is my blog! Why do I have it? There are many reasons. Here are my TOP 3 Reasons for starting a blog:
  1. Everyone has a blog. So I'm copying everyone else? Yes. It is true. I may be the last one on this bandwagon, but I've finally arrived. Like my friends online, I want to have a space where I can share my thoughts and ideas. I'm also hoping to find others with similar interests.
  2. It's a new year - 2008 will be great! Great? How? My master plan is to get back to writing, reading, learning, and being creative. How better to do that than to have a blog, right?
  3. I have a new digital camera! Watch out for not just pictures on my blog but also artwork. Eventually I will get a scanner, but until then I can use my camera to post my attempts at artwork.

So what will you be likely to read about on Jenifleur-de-lis?
This will mainly be a reading and writing blog with tributes to anything that inspires me as a writer. I've kept a daily journal ever since I received my first pink-hearted diary with a lock from my grandpa at the age of five. One of my major projects is to take all of those journals, safely kept in a very large box, and get them typed up in my LifeJournal computer program. I'm hoping that this will help jumpstart my muse. Beware, I also like to gab about movies, music, and things of that nature. And every once and awhile I like to get crazy and get out my paintbrush for some watercoloring.

Lastly, I want to give a shout out to Tickpuppy for basically coming up with my blog name - Jenifleur-de-lis. I love it! Thank goodness for our crazy late night drives! :0) And I may still use this name for my coverband!
